![]() Tho! despite it not being canonical at all now I did think it was cute that Ford and Raz share a “jack of all trades” type ravenous energy to learn new skills extremely fast (re: Raz picking up a bunch of badges and powers in less than a few days).įord being able to do 500 things like it’s nothing remained and I think that’s the important part. It sounds like a tall tale type boast he would try to tell someone to impress them before Otto butts in to say Ford barely got his bachelor’s degree before Otto gets elbowed in the gut I’m glad that got dumped in the garbo jdkfkskf It makes him sound like a rich boy jock type and I’m like nah son. Ooooooh look it’s Ford Cruller he dined with presidents he can play every sport and got 3 college degrees and became a super spy he’s so handsome and rich and big big brained that he gets bored by all of it. I was reading the lipo doc yesterday and the level to which Ford’s backstory was absolutely not canon is really funny to me So yeah, I get why it was probably done, but I’m still kinda bummed about it. It’s genuinely very cool when you notice it, but most don’t, and again it potentially makes the mechanic a bit more confusing. I had no idea until it was pointed out to me. On top of that, it may have been a case of a lot of work for very little reward, since most players didn’t notice that detail about the baggage in the first game. I THINK I can understand it from a gameplay perspective–if the baggage makes a uniform noise, it makes it easier to identify, but if it’s a different noise each time, that might confuse the player a bit more. No but this really disappointed me too! I was looking forward to getting my heart destroyed hearing these different characters crying, but it didn’t happen. I was really surprised to find out that they didn’t do it with 2 and instead made different non-character-linked sounds? Does it affect my love for the game? Not at all. ![]() But, once I learned about it, it was just another juicy layer that made 1 so amazing. It was a really small detail and one that could be easily missed. And the last mind you go into even has a special twist on it! There are clips floating around somewhere of each unaltered crying effect but I don’t remember where they were (I’ll see if I can find them later.) Usually a clip of that character crying and then pitched up/down. ![]() In 1 each mind had a unique crying sound attached to the baggage. But, there was one small detail that was in Psychonauts 1 that didn’t show up in 2 which I found kinda disappointing. Just wanna clarify real quick: I love Psychonauts 2.
